TomKat unveil Suri

Finally, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s daughter, Suri, makes her Hollywood debut, as her much-awaited photographs are published in Vanity Fair magazine

The baby girl born to actress Katie Holmes and the Mission Impossible star last April 18 has never been seen by the public, prompting rumours questioning the child's existence, although family friend Penelope Cruz always maintained she was “beautiful.”

With a cherubic face and a shock of dark hair, the pictures of four-and-a-half-month old Suri Cruise were taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz for a 22-page photo spread in the magazine.

Since the birth, the 44-year-old movie star and Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes, 27 had not been seen in public with their new born child, sparking bizarre rumours about the baby's whereabouts. Speaking to Vanity Fair, the actress told how she has been hurt by the rumours circulating about her child and her relationship.

Sources close to the actress had reportedly said her family did not get on with Tom Cruise and were worried about Tom Cruise's influence on Miss Holmes, and that the deeply Catholic family were concerned about her conversion to his controversial religion Scientology.

Miss Holmes said: “Some of the crap that's been said about my parents and my siblings is really frustrating. The amount of s**t that's out there. And the stuff they say about Suri?! You shouldn't say that about us, and you can't say that about my child.” She explained that the gossip “eats away at me because it's just not OK.” “I was overjoyed at being pregnant, and then had to withstand ridicule about my pregnancy when it was the most normal, noncontroversial thing imaginable.”

The couple wanted star photographer Annie Leibovitz to do the pictures for the October edition of Vanity Fair because she had photographed Mr Cruise’s other children, Bella and Connor, who he had adopted with former wife Nicole Kidman.
