Madonna wants to be like Mahatma Gandhi

Pop Star Madonna says she wants to be like spiritual leader Mahatma Gandhi.

She adds peace campaigners John Lennon and Martin Luther King to her roll call of individuals she emulates.

Agencies have reported Madonna, 48, says she likes to be inspired.

Dr. Kapoor: Methadone OK for Pregnant Anna

A lawyer for the doctor who prescribed drugs to Anna Nicole Smith in the late stages of her pregnancy says giving methadone to Smith was "medically sound and appropriate." The lawyer for Dr. Sandeep Kapoor responded to allegations of medical misconduct today in a statement to TMZ, saying, in part, "Medical research and protocols confirm that methadone is approved for use by pregnant patients." According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, methadone treatment for pregnant women can "save [a] baby's life" and can "allow [one] to regain...quality of life." The government also says that using methadone while pregnant "will not cause birth defects for [a] baby." The lawyer also defended the doctor's use of an alias for Smith's methadone prescription, explaining, "The media frenzy surrounding Smith's life and tragic death underscores why public figures may choose to use pseudonyms in order to protect the privacy of their medical treatment." Kapoor's attorney didn't discuss the specifics of his treatment of Anna Nicole, citing the confidentiality of medical records, saying only that the "treatment program for Anna Nicole Smith was at all times medically sound and appropriate." According to the statement, Kapoor "will cooperate with any inquiries by the Medical Board of California," which said yesterday that it would investigate the doctor's prescribing Smith's drugs to an alias. Anna's Body to Be Held for DNA Testing

"As far as I was concerned she was gorgeous, but she had such low self esteem she sometimes would not listen.

"She would say, ‘Am I fat? Am I fat?' then spend hours dancing around the house trying to burn off calories.

"She was always jumping around.

"Other times, she got so low she didn't care what she looked like. She could not care less some days if she went out of the house without brushing her hair or checking to see if her outfit matched.

"That's just where she was in her life. She had so much on her plate with the children she had precious little time to worry about how she looked.

"It was around that time her aunt died and that totally devastated her. It was yet another blow.

"It was me she turned to for comfort and me who travelled to Louisiana for the funeral.

"I rarely saw Britney with any friends and during our time together I never saw her with Paris, it was like that was a part of her life she wanted to forget."

Chance

But it soon became clear that Isaac could not cope with the demands of Britney's troubled and hectic life.

And so last week, in an emotional phone call, the couple put an end to their six-week romance.

"I adore Britney and in a different place at a different time we might have stood a chance," said Isaac. "It was far too soon for her to get involved in a relationship with anyone.

"But she has coped with so much in her life I hope she does not give up now. She is too special for that."

Yet for some reason all of her "fans" would rather just believe that she is "crazy" or "eccentric." The girl was messed up. Always. She dropped out of high school, had a son as a teenager, was from Texas, worked as a stripper, married an 89 year-old man when she was 26 (who she picked up in her strip club... yuck) and then gained about 100 pounds and had cameras follow her around for two years documenting how fucked up she was. After her son died mysteriously 5 months ago, Stern stands to inherit Anna Nicole's money. I guess what goes around comes around. I wish I could say Anna will be remembered for all the good work she did. But other than Playboy and Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, I can't really think of anything good she did. She will go down as a 90s sex symbol who made what she could out of a shitty life and then went off the deep end.
