Amy Winehouse is all smiles these days – after finally being granted a US visa and getting her teeth fixed.

Despite the star's changing luck, she will not be performing live at tonight's celebrations.

Instead, the 24-year-old, whose album Back to Black has been nominated for Grammys in six categories, will sing via a satellite link from London.

She had previously been denied entry to the US but will be staying in the UK to focus on her recovery as she is weaned off drugs – and her sparkly new teeth.

Emerging from a second visit to a London dentist yesterday, Amy flashed a bright white smile to onlookers before being escorted by her father Mitch back to the centre she is receiving treatment in.

This is a far-cry from December when she was spotted with gaps in her mouth suggesting her teeth had fallen out.

A friend close to her admitted at the time: "She has one missing from the front of her mouth, and another one at the back which is less visible.

"Her mouth is full of holes and she is desperately worried she is going to lose more. She has actually pulled a tooth out herself, which is absolutely disgusting."

"Her gums are always red and sore as a result of it and some of the teeth are loosening."

Rehab appears to be agreeing with Amy in more ways than one.

The singer seemed focused, was well-dressed and had even painted her nails red for the occasion.

That being said, if this is real its brilliant. We love the cigarette butts in the Mickey Mouse ears and the red bull can. And the tag line for her story is fantastic. But it will not go away thanks to cable TV show and the World Wide Web. It hit a fairly furious point on the CNN nightly show that is hosted by Nancy grace on Friday night. First Bryan Alvarez delivered this: "According to the policy that WWE released after they had the meeting explaining that this was going to be done, the policy says that they test your testosterone to epitestosterone ratio. And if you've got a 4-to-1 or below, you pass. If you have a 10-to-1, it's an automatic failure. If you're between 4-to-1 and 10-to-1, as David Finlay said, they're going to talk to your doctor. They're going to make sure that everything is OK. They're going to make sure that your ratios are this high perhaps because this is what you're producing naturally." He added, "However, the policy also states that you can use testosterone and such for purposes of injury rehabilitation and purposes of replacement therapy. So if your doctor says that this is why you've got these prescriptions, you're OK. That was challenged by Dave Finlay. "No, it won't. And what does he know? He's never been in the doors of WWE. I'm there every single day. I'm on the road four days a week. I know what the policy is. I went through it, and I have a lot of talent with me that have gone through it. It's garbage. Well, my god, isn’t that horrible? The sheriff’s department had some serious looking-into when Sheriff Lee Baca let Paris Hilton out of jail after just three days for “medical reasons.” Funny how no one knows what the hell was wrong with her… but we all know the name of her dog. She was sent right back one night later. Whitemore, who sounds real sincere here, says, “We’re going to investigate it and get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what happened.” The sheriff’s department is also looking into whether or not Paris was allowed to use a cordless phone instead of waiting in line with the other inmates forever, to use a pay phone during certain hours. Once again, big deal. People kill each other in jail, and they’re investigating her getting her mail from a captain, getting a new uniform, and using a cordless phone? Nice to see the police are really doing their jobs. Naomi Watts looks like she’s ready to have her baby any day now. I was big like that, although I was a lot heavier than she is while in the late stages of pregnancy, and my son was two weeks late and weighed almost nine pounds. Her boyfriend Liev Schreiber said they don’t want to know the sex of their baby and that they want to wait to find out until the birth. Is it a decent guess to say she’s having a boy because she’s big or is it hard to tell? I had one waiter tell me he could tell I was having a boy because my face had changed or something. I think that was a nice way of saying I was fat. Stars don’t let the world know exactly when they’re due because they want some privacy. I wish I had kept my due date a secret too since people bugged me a lot in the 14 days I waited for my son to arrive after he was due. Due dates are just an estimation, and from what I remember reading first babies are often “late.” Naomi was seen out with a friend in West Hollywood yesterday. The hip-hop star, real name Calvin Broadus, has been refused entry into Australia this week (ends27Apr07), where he was expected to co-host the Mtv Australia Video Music Awards in Sydney on Sunday (29Apr07). The country's Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews said the rapper's previous criminal convictions in his native America had contributed to their refusal to grant him a visa. Speaking on local radio Macquarie this morning (26Apr07), Andrews said, "The reality is in relation to this man, that he was given a warning the last time, he has a whole string of convictions, and, just two weeks ago I was told he was convicted on a number of charges again and sentenced to three years' imprisonment on two, and three years' imprisonment on another, with five years' probation and a suspended sentence." Andrews said Snoop Dogg was given an official warning during his last visit Down Under in February, when he overstayed his visa by two days. Snoop Dogg and pal Sean 'Diddy' Combs were forced to cancel their joint UK gigs last month (Mar07) after the country's Foreign And Commonwealth Office refused to grant him a visa.
